The conference will be based on a report entitled ‘Protect, Respect, Remedy – a Framework for Business and Human Rights’ by John Ruggie, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative on the issue of human rights and transnational corporations and other business enterprises.
The overall objective of the Conference is to increase the public interest in the topic of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and promote the benefits of applying CSR concepts in times of crisis.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a rapidly developing area in Europe and this dynamic is an integral part of the fight for social cohesion, economic growth and sustainable development on our continent.
The international dimension of Corporate Social Responsibility is a main pillar of the CSR strategy of the European Commission, with the ambition to make Europe a pole of excellence in CSR.
