Technological innovation in the health care sector is therefore becoming a priority for this region. Their innovation camp on this complex issue will involve a broad range of relevant stakeholders.

The European University Institute (EUI) has just published a study that examines the potential contribution of EU aid to alleviating migration and refugee pressures. Conducted by Heliodoro TEMPRANO ARROYO, Adviser in DG ECFIN, during his fellowship at the EUI, the study revisits the debate on the link between aid and migration and looks at the actual response of the EU to the migration challenge, including through the creation of new financial facilities for refugees and the External Investment Plan. The study concludes that while aid provides no silver bullet, if properly designed and part of a comprehensive strategy, it can make a useful contribution to the EU’s external migration policy.
