The European Bioeconomy University (EBU) seeks to develop a mechanism to enhance bioeconomy students’ cross-sectoral mindset. Thanks to a shared platform for online learning and study tours, students will be able to include in their studies courses offered by all EBU member universities. This line of collaboration seeks to improve students’ cross-sectoral understanding of research subjects and business activities. Successful completion of the study module will be recognised with a certificate issued by the EBU.
Consisting of 11 goals altogether, How We Tread Right is a five year plan for a regenerative return to travel, following the industry-wide halt this year.
This year a record number of six national student teams will participate (Belgium, Finland, Greece, Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands) with Greece and Spain participating for the first time.
On 16 and 17 September 2020, project partners met online to kick off their new project Allthings.bioPRO – Game changer in the bio-based economy.

This spring, Nordregio runs a series of webinars focusing on rural digitalisation and more specifically on manufacturing, tourism and bioeconomy.
What can we do to live more sustainably and save resources while also maintaining our standard of living? How can science and technology support us on this path? Science Year 2020 gives the public the opportunity to experience potential solutions that have already emerged from research.
