Composite Indicators

The COIN Open Days are one-day/half-day workshops that bring together researchers and policy analysts from European Union institutions, international organisations, think tanks and the academia with scientists of the European Commission’s Competence Centre on Composite Indicators and Scoreboards (COIN).
The aim of our Seminar Series is to bring together international experts and scientists to share their knowledge on the development, study, and use of Composite Indicators and Scoreboards. Indices aggregate multi-dimensional concepts into a simplified one.
The UN Climate Change Conference COP25 will take place from 2 to 13 December 2019 at IFEMA, Feria de Madrid, in Spain. Today, the European Commission released the second edition of its Cultural and Creative Cities Monitor, a tool designed to benchmark and boost the creative and cultural potential of European cities, which is vital to driving economic growth and social cohesion.
With the growing momentum towards the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and just ahead of the United Nations High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in New York, two international indexes measuring progress on sustainable development issues were launched this month: the Sustainable Development Goals Index and Dashboards (SDG Index) and the EM2030 Sustainable Development Goals Gender Index (SDG Gender Index).
Increasing women’s voice and participation in politics has clear positive impacts on the quality of governance, transparency and accountability. The European Commission has presented the ASEM Sustainable Connectivity Portal – an online tool offering a wealth of data on the political, economic and social relationship between the two continents.
