Seven years of scientific support to EU decision-making

20 June 2023 marks World Refugee Day as well as the 7th anniversary of the European Commission’s Knowledge Centre on Migration and Demography (KCMD).
To celebrate these seven years of scientific support to EU decision-making, the KCMD shares its brand new video, featuring five EU Commissioners highlighting the need to embed demographic insights into climate change policies. We were honoured to launch the dedicated study together with European Commission Vice-President for Democracy and Demography, Dubravka Šuica.
Together with the International Institute of Applied System Analysis (IIASA) and the Population Division of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), we have just launched a global survey on demographic change addressed to world demographers. Our newly-published data stories on demography and pollution, as well as our revamped Atlas of Migration offer interactive, user-friendly visualisations of complex information, making it easy to access and to understand.
This newsletter provides a snapshot of the main publications, tools and findings of the Knowledge Centre on Migration and Demography (KCMD) in the first half of 2023.
