Health Econometrics WS 2020 – postponement

The 7th edition of the HEW workshop will focus on evaluations of current or past health policies and on analyses which shed light on important health policy questions.

The European Commission's Competence Centre on Microeconomic Evaluation, in collaboration with the University of Milano-Bicocca, Brunel University London and University of Ca’ Foscari, is organising the VIIth Health Econometrics Workshop (HEW 2020).

Programme

The workshop will consist of plenary sessions only. Plenary sessions will host keynote speakers along with the presentation of selected papers submitted through the call for papers.
The workshop will start at 09:00 on 13 July 2020 and end at 17:00 on 17 July 2020.*   tentatively postponed to July 2021   *

Objectives

The workshop welcomes research empirical (applied econometrics) papers that (i) evaluate current or past health policies; (ii) undertake analyses which shed light on important health policy questions.

Special Issue

The conference organisers, in collaboration with the editors of the journal Economic Modelling, will invite the authors of selected papers to submit their manuscript to the journal. The editors will ensure that the selected papers undergo the normal review process on a fast-track basis, in liaison with the conference organisers.

Submission

Please submit your complete paper to jrc-ccme-hew2020@ec.europa.eu as an e-mail attachment in PDF form, titled with your full name.

Important dates:

  • Paper submissions: from 1 December 2019 to 28 February 2020.  
  • Acceptance decision: 15 April 2020. For authors of accepted papers: Registration and payment of conference fees by 15 June 2020 to confirm your participation.
  • Conference fees: 500€ (300€ for PhD students and non-presenting participants, 80€ accompanying person)
  • Programme available online: to be announced.

Accommodation

Conference participants will receive a list of hotels near the JRC. Transport from the hotel will be arranged by the organisers.
