COMPIE 2020 > 2021 conference

The COMPIE 2020 > 2021 conference will bring together practitioners and academics to discuss developments in the theory and the applications of counterfactual methods for policy impact evaluation. Because of the travel restrictions related to the Covid-19, the conference is postponed to June 2021.

The European Commission's Competence Centre on Microeconomic Evaluation, in collaboration with the University of Mannheim and the Center for Evaluation and Development (C4ED) is organising the conference: "Counterfactual Methods for Policy Impact Evaluation 2020 > 2021" (COMPIE 2020 > 2021).

Because of the travel restrictions related to the Covid-19, the conference will take place in the second half of June 2021 in Mannheim, Germany.

Objectives

The aim of COMPIE is to bring together practitioners and academics to discuss developments in the theory and the applications of counterfactual methods for policy impact evaluation. Applications can cover a broad range of interventions, from labor and social policy to regulation and funding programmes, ideally with a focus on EU policies.

Important dates

  • Paper submissions: from December 5, 2019 to February 28, 2020 > February 28, 2021 (tbc). Link to the call for papers.
  • Acceptance decision: April 30, 2020 > April 30, 2021 (tbc)
  • Registration: May 1 to June 15, 2020 > June 15, 2021 (tbc)
  • Authors of accepted papers need to register by June 1, 2020 > June 1, 2021 (tbc) to confirm participation. Conference fees: €150.
  • Programme available online: from June 15, 2020 > June 15, 2021 (tbc)

Programme

The conference will consist of plenary, contributed, organised and poster sessions. The plenary sessions will host two keynote speakers; the contributed sessions and the poster sessions will include contributed papers submitted through the call for papers. The conference will take place in the second half of June 2021 in Mannheim, Germany.
