A 2-week GMES and Africa Workshop on the design of land monitoring services will be held at the JRC Ispra, with the participation of experts from

• Agence Gabonaise d'Etudes et d'Observations Spatiale (AGEOS),
• Commission Internationale du Bassin Congo-Oubangui-Sangha (CICOS),
• Centre for Space Science and Technology Education (CSSTE) and
• Southern African Science Service Centre for Climate Change and Adaptive Land Management (SASSCAL).

The objective of the workshop is to prepare staff from Implementation Centres on theoretical and practical aspects required to use the eStation to support their environmental services in the framework of GMES & Africa project.

The main thematic topics to be covered include Water, Wetlands and Forest.
