Scope
An ever-growing range of quantitative indicators – statistical, model-derived and projected – is available at the finest granularity, allowing for in-depth analysis and understanding of dynamics at urban, regional and functional area level. Additionally, big data are providing unprecedented opportunities in leveraging the level of detail and spatial coverage across traditional and new domains. It is therefore becoming increasingly important to frame collaboration among existing data providers (such as institutions, researchers, local communities) towards a harmonised approach aimed at ensuring an effective exchange of the wealth of information available, as well as the integrity and reliability of input and output data.
Expected results
The workshop will bring together experts from global and European Institutions (such as OECD, UN-Habitat, EUROSTAT, European Investment Bank (EIB)) to discuss the collection, production, use and dissemination of territorial data and indicators.
The workshop aims at starting the discussion on a commonly agreed framework to exchange, visualise and disseminate data consistently across different services / tools, including the possibility to collect and integrate non-harmonised data provided by local entities (regions and cities).
