We are excited to announce our first conference “A European perspective on Artificial Intelligence (AI): Paving the way for SMEs’ AI adoption in key industrial value chains”. This two-day conference, will focus on knowledge exchange and networking among European SMEs, decision makers, AI innovators and academics in order to assess existing and potential future policy initiatives to support AI adoption.

The conference is organised in the context of the initiative of the European Commission (by DG GROW with DG RTD, DG SANTE, DG CNECT, DG MOVE, JRC; and by EASME) on “Artificial Intelligence: Critical industrial applications for SMEs”. This initiative aims to contribute to accelerate the development and uptake of AI applications by European SMEs in strategic value chains and to foster stronger cooperation between industry, start-ups, academia and policy makers, to promote EU strengths in the new industrial age.

We will highlight the value potential of AI development for European SMEs, including success factors and barriers, share success stories and discuss necessary foundations for successful AI adoption. In addition, we will discuss Europe’s technology sovereignty and how to maintain it in the future.
