The conference focuses on recently published 'Megatrends in Africa Report' that has identified 6 megatrends: climate change, population growth, migration, urbanisation, demography process and technology development that Africa is facing. They can create opportunities but also set several challenges in the future.
It is crucial to understand each of these megatrends and their implications, ponder options for mitigation and adaptation. When formulating decisions related to Africa, EU policy-makers and EU legislators, it should consider these interlinked Megatrends to achieve a more sustainable development in Africa and cooperation with European Union.
