The main changes are:
- CHIRPS rainfall data used instead of ECMWF rainfall data between 50° N and 50° S. Affected indicators: SPI1, SP3, WSI. CHIRPS data are provided globally between 50° N and 50° S. Outside this latitude band, ECMWF rainfall data are used.
- Simplification of the warning classes (class 1- has been removed)
- Update Gaul1 units for Chad and DRC
- Several improvements to Warning Explorer and High Resolution Viewer
ASAP team currently working on a tool in the High Resolution Viewer for extracting statistics from user-defined polygons and for improving and optimizing the graphic layout of all ASAP web tools, as well as a number of new features for the Warning Explorer. Minor releases (4.1, 4.2) are scheduled for September 2019 and January 2020, respectively.
