Commissioner Piebalgs to discuss future of Development Agenda in London

Commissioner Piebalgs begins today a two-day visit to London (UK) to attend the High-Level Meeting of the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC), which will mark the official launch of the 2012 Development Cooperation Report.

The discussion will cover issues of great relevance for the future global development policies, including Post-2015 development agenda, a review of the implementation of actions agreed in Busan and the Commission's overall approach to future external development financing. Commissioner Piebalgs will encourage the DAC to focus on transparency, reducing fragmentation and results.

The event will also an opportunity to meet with the newly elected DAC Chair, Mr Erik Solheim, and with the Chief Commissioner of the Independent Commission for Aid Impact (ICAI), Mr Graham Ward.
