In a recent survey among all IMI users, 86% of the respondents stated that they find IMI easy to use. Moreover, 71% of those respondents who had already tried out the new IMI find it more user-friendly than the old version.
The new IMI has a new "look and feel" and a multi-tab presentation that allows users to view different parts of the application at the same time.
The new IMI regulation (EU) N° 1024/2012 entered into force on 4 December 2012. It does not change the way IMI operates, but consolidates its legal framework.
The Regulation also paves the way for expansion of IMI to further areas. In November, IMI was extended to the Euro Cash-In-Transit Regulation
Next year, IMI will be used for the Directive on Patients' Rights,
for the problem solving network SOLVIT
and for notifications under the Services Directive
and the e-commerce Directive.
