Live Discussion: Promoting apprenticeships to SMEs
On 14 December 2022, the European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA) held a live discussion on how to promote apprenticeships to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). During the discussion, around 60 participants got together to discuss policy and different instruments used to involve SMEs in apprenticeship programmes across Europe.

High-level live discussion: Supporting Ukrainians in the EU through apprenticeships
On 27 October 2022, the European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA) held a high-level live discussion on supporting Ukrainians in the EU through apprenticeships. The event explored how apprenticeships can be used as a tool to support Ukrainians displaced by the war and address their educational, employment and societal needs.

The event was chaired by Inmaculada Placencia Porrero, Senior Expert at the Disability and Inclusion Unit, European Commission. The discussion moderator was Ann Vanden Bulcke, Policy Assistant at the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Unit, European Commission.

Inspiring practices that break the stereotypes’. Panellists across Europe from academia, industry, and the public and non-governmental sectors came together to share how apprenticeships can help the social inclusion of vulnerable groups.

Understanding the barriers to implementation in small and medium-sized enterprises’. The live discussion was chaired by Dr Jeff Bridgford, Visiting Senior Research Fellow in the School of Education, Communication and Society, King’s College London, and panellists shared good practice examples from Austria, the Netherlands, Romania and Spain.
