The Access City Award is the European prize for making cities more accessible to people with disabilities and older people. For its wide approach to accessibility, targeting the whole population, and considering the challenging location and size of the town, Monteverde wins this year’s special prize for accessibility of cultural heritage in the category of cities with fewer than 50 000 inhabitants.
