20. Oktober: Europäischer Statistiktag
Die europäische Statistikgemeinschaft feiert am 20. Oktober den Europäischen Statistiktag. Er wurde vom Europäischen Beratenden Ausschuss für Statistik (European Statistical Advisory Committee – ESAC) ins Leben gerufen und wird vom Europäischen Statistischen System (ESS) und dem Europäischen System der Zentralbanken unterstützt.
Er wurde erstmals am 20. Oktober 2016 in Budapest während der zweiten Konferenz der Interessenträger im Bereich der europäischen Statistik (Conference of European Statistics Stakeholders – CESS) begangen.

Europäischer Statistiktag 2024
Der 9. Europäische Tag der Statistik wurde unter folgendem, vom ESAC ausgegebenen Motto begangen: „Amtliche Statistiken, ein Fenster zum Verständnis der Gesellschaft“ (Official Statistics, a window for understanding society).
Der ESAC hat auf seiner 44. Sitzung am 13. und 14. Juni 2024 eine Erklärung zum 2024 Europäischen Tag der Statistik (auf Englisch) angenommen.

Der 8. Europäische Tag der Statistik wurde unter dem Motto „Statistiken für eine bessere Entwicklung in einer sich schnell verändernden Welt“ (Statistics for better development in a fast-changing world) stattfinden.
ESAC hat auf seiner 40. Sitzung am 27. Juni 2023 eine Erklärung für den 2023 Europäischen Statistiktag (auf Englisch) angenommen.
Der 7. Europäische Statistiktag stand unter dem vom ESAC ausgegebenen Motto: „Die Gesellschaft verstehen und sich mit ihr verbinden – auf der Suche nach der Wahrheit!“
Der ESAC gab eine Erklärung (auf Englisch) ab, in der die zentrale Rolle der Statistik als Hauptantriebskraft für den sozialen Zusammenhalt, das Wohlergehen und den Schutz vor Desinformation hervorgehoben wurde.
Im Oktober 2022 veranstaltete der ESAC außerdem in Rom eine Konferenz der Interessenträger im Bereich der europäischen Statistik mit dem Titel „Das europäische Datenökosystem für statistische Informationen im digitalen Zeitalter“ (The European Data Ecosystem for the Statistical Information of the Digital Age).
Die Konferenz wurde in einem Hybrid-Format organisiert, in Zusammenarbeit mit:
