DS calls for tenders > Overview EN REVAMP

This section about Eurostat's public contracts provides information about submitting a tender within the framework of calls for tenders.

Eurostat’s calls for tenders are linked to the implementation of Eurostat's annual statistical programmes as well as to other statistical activities carried out in collaboration with European Commission departments.

To receive alerts about new calls for tenders, please use our alert system using the search query ‘Calls for tenders’.

European legislation requires that tenders for public contracts for which the amounts exceed a certain threshold (these vary depending on the type of contract), are published in the Official Journal S series, which can be consulted free of charge in the Tenders Electronic Daily (TED) database.

The published contract notice informs all interested operators that a procurement procedure has been launched. It provides them with the essential features and all the information they require to participate.

This notice can be regarded as the most important form of publicity for public procurement. If a contract notice, which has already been published has to be amended prior to the closing date for submission of tenders or for receipt of requests to participate, a new notice is published in the same form as the original. The time allowed for submitting tenders or applications may then be extended.

Further information on the EU policy on public procurement is available on the funding webpage and the public contracts webpage.
