Working at Eurostat

Eurostat offers challenging and rewarding careers. We are always looking for highly motivated and competent people with a wide range of skills and backgrounds from all over Europe. The majority of our staff work in the field of statistics. However, we also offer posts in other areas such as economics, IT, communication, dissemination, budget and finance, management, and secretarial assistance.

Most importantly, we want our staff to have more than just professional skills. You should have a passion to deliver meaningful results, embrace innovative thinking, and be committed to work as part of a multicultural team.

We offer you more than just a job. With your skills and talent, you can contribute to the production of high quality European statistics that are crucial for fact-based decision-making.

We offer opportunities to gain experience in various statistical areas throughout your career, and a wide training programme in statistics and other fields. We actively promote a non-discrimination and equality policy and a good work-life balance through flexible arrangements like teleworking.

How to apply

Permanent officials, temporary or contract agents, and trainees

Eurostat is a Directorate-General of the European Commission and recruitment of Eurostat staff is organised by the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO). The European Commission offers various job opportunities and different types of employment, including permanent or temporary positions and traineeships.

We advise you to have a look at the jobs at the European Commission as well as the website of EU careers managed by the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO).

For traineeship opportunities, please see the website of the Blue Book traineeship programme for further information and to apply.

Please see below the current vacancies in Eurostat. According to Article 29 of the Staff Regulations, the candidatures from officials of the Institutions and laureates of competitions have precedence over other candidatures. Each post is therefore published first internally in the Commission and inter-institutionally, while competition laureates get a notice via dedicated channels. If there are no suitable candidates among these categories, we can then consider other candidates for a temporary agent position.
