Peer Review on ‘Universal Credit', London, United Kingdom, 30 November-1 December 2015
This Peer Review presented Universal Credit, a new type of benefit in the UK which was designed to support people who were on a low income or out of work. Universal Credit replaced six existing benefits and aimed to make work pay and effectively incentivise people towards and within work.

Learning Exchange on ‘Measures to support older workers’
The Learning Exchange on ‘Measures to support older workers’ took place on 10 November 2015 and focused on measures and initiatives to encourage labour market participation among people aged 55 years and above in Slovenia, the Netherlands, Norway and the UK. The aim of the Learning Exchange was to foster a discussion on measures to both improve the employability of older workers and to encourage them to remain in the labour market. The Learning Exchange was hosted by the Slovenian Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities and was a follow up to the Expert Workshop on ‘Measures to address labour market segmentation’ which took place on 9 November 2015 also in Slovenia.

This Peer Review provided the opportunity to analyse the new changes made to the dismissal law in the Netherlands in January 2015 which aims to make the dismissal procedure more activating, fairer and simpler.
