A recent webinar from the European Network of Public Employment Services (PES Network) showcased inspiring examples of how PES and their partners are reaching people at risk of being marginalised from the labour market. The examples showed highly transferable approaches for outreach focused respectively on migrants, young people and women who have taken time out of their careers.

PES Network supports quality management reforms in Latvian PES
The Latvian Public Employment Service (PES) has successfully produced an implementation plan to develop an integrated quality management system. This was achieved thanks to the contributions of peer PES representatives and experts through a PES Network Mutual Assistance Project.

PES Network’s latest ‘Benchlearning’ cycle: a success story of European solidarity
The PES Network recently concluded its third cycle of peer benchlearning assessments of Public Employment Services (PES) in Europe. These assessments have fed directly into mutual learning activities aiming to build the capacity and performance of PES where they need it most for improving customer service delivery. Held in the context of COVID-19, the latest cycle has demonstrated tremendous solidarity amongst PES.

PES staff management in the ‘new normal’ post COVID-19
A new survey report of the PES Network highlights how staff management practices in Public Employment Services (PES) have evolved in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Key trends include reskilling staff to adapt to changing services or delivery models – especially digitalisation of services – and increased remote or hybrid work. There is also a greater focus on staff engagement, feedback, health and wellbeing.
