IMI helps enforce GDPR

IMI is now ensuring the proper im­plement­ation of the General Data Pro­tection Regu­lation (GDPR), pro­viding multi­lingual online information ex­change functions for Euro­pean Insti­tutions and National Data Pro­tection Super­visory authorities.


100K Information Exchanges

The use of IMI is steadily increasing: by December 2017, the total number of information exchanges sent through IMI had exceeded 100,000. In 2017 alone nearly 34,000 requests were sent, involving more than 8,200 registered authorities.

All user survey - results have been published

The Commission conducted a survey to assess users’ experience with IMI in terms of user-friendliness, functions and benefits. The results of the survey have now been published.


Public procurement in IMI

From now on public authorities can use IMI to check information and documentation provided by procurement companies from other European countries.


Achievements in 2014 - IMI Newsletter has been published


New IMI release

A new version of IMI has been released. You will find that the structure of authorities in IMI has been simplified and that authority and user management has been improved. For more detailed information please consult our guides.


New edition of the Single Market Scoreboard published

To complete the report on IMI, two new quality indicators have been introduced in the 07/2014 edition of the Single Market Scoreboard.


IMI will be extended to three new legal areas

  • Public Procurement
  • Return of Cultural Objects
  • Enforcement of the Posting of Workers Directive

Achievements in 2013 - IMI Newsletter has been published

On 23 January 2014 we sent out the latest IMI newsletter which gives an update on all the progress made over the course of 2013.


Successful extension of IMI

On 15 November 2013, IMI has been opened for administrative cooperation under the e-commerce directive.


Single Market Scoreboard website launched

With today's launch of the online only Single Market Scoreboard, a more comprehensive and user-friendly reporting system has been put in place.
