Information on the following topics is available in the database:
Data are provided by the European Union Agency for Railways.
They measure the number of railway accidents or the number of persons that lost their lives in railway accidents or have sustained serious injuries.
The statistics are grouped by:
- type of accident
- category of persons involved.
Data are also available on accidents involving transport of dangerous goods and suicides involving railways.
Data are available from 2006.
Data are provided by the Directorate General for Mobility and Transport and come from the Community database on road accidents (CARE).
Data measure the number of road accidents and the number of persons who lost their lives in road accidents.
The statistics on number of people killed in road accidents are grouped by:
- sex
- age
- category of persons involved
- type of road
- type of vehicle.
Data are available from 1999.
Data are provided by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency.
They measure the number of persons that lost their lives in air accidents or have sustained serious or minor injuries.
The statistics are grouped according to the type of operation:
- commercial air transport
- aerial work
- general aviation.
For commercial air transport and general aviation above 2 250 kg maximum take-off mass, data are available from 1990.
For the aerial work and general aviation under 2 250 kg maximum take-off mass, data are available from 2006.
Data are provided by the European Maritime Safety Agency.
They measure the number of persons that lost their lives in maritime accidents or have been injured.
The statistics are grouped according to:
- where the vessels are registered (EU-registered or registered in other country)
- type of vessel (cargo ship, passenger ship, fishing vessel, service ship or other vessel)
- the category of person affected (crew, passenger or other person)
- the ocean region in which the accident occurred.
Data are available from 2011.
