2013 is the European Year of Citizens, an opportunity to encourage the people of Europe to play a more active role in the design and implementation of the policies that affect us all. The European Citizens’ Initiative is one potential tool for achieving these goals, as Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič told delegates at the seminar organised by the European Ombudsman on Tuesday 23 April.
