Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič was in Copenhagen on Monday 30 January to discuss the EU's response to the financial and economic crisis with representatives from the national and European parliaments, underlining in particular the need for all countries to work together to tackle the issue.
With just a little over two months to go until the launch of the European Citizens' Initiative (ECI) on 1 April, a conference hosted by Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič on Thursday 26 January offered delegates a chance to see how plans are progressing for registering initiatives and collecting signatures.
13 January 2012: Vice-President M. Šefčovič participated in a live skype chat discussion with students of Evanjelické gymnázium Košice within this year's edition of Euroscola project.
Vice-president Šefčovič is attending a Hearing organised by the Portuguese Parliament (Assembleia da República) to discuss the Commission's Work Programme for 2012. This political debate will inform the Assembleia's choice of priority initiatives for scrutiny in terms of the subsidiarity principle.
