In addition, the event, which was held in Valletta, Malta on 14 June was followed via web streaming by 812 people from all over the world. The conference was a trending topic on Twitter in Malta.

The European Commission has released a new version of the European Union Public Licence (EUPL), a tool for publishing any copyrighted work as open source. The speakers of the Sharing & Reuse Conference 2017 are confirmed! The event will be opened by the Portuguese Minister of the Presidency and of Administrative Modernisation, Maria Manuel Leitão Marques, together with the Director General of the European Commission's Directorate General for Informatics, Gertrud Ingestad.
