On 1 and 2 February 2018, the first OpenPM² conference attracted more than 550 people from the EU institutions, EU Member States, businesses and citizens to present one common and open to all project management methodology. Other 850 people followed the event via webstream.

SEMIC 2018, the 8th Semantic Interoperability Conference will take place in Sofia, Bulgaria on 14 June 2018. With the theme "Linked Digital Public Administrations", the conference will be organised by the ISA² Programme in collaboration with the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU.

The European Commission has launched a series of public consultations related to the next generation of EU financial programmes. The views expressed in these consultations will be taken into account in the process of creating the proposal for the post-2020 Multiannual Financial Framework, which is the EU's long–term budget.

The 8th edition of SEMIC, the annual semantic interoperability conference, will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria on 14 June 2018. The first international OpenPM² Conference will enable sharing of knowledge and experiences between PM² project management practitioners, trainers and experts and project managers from all over Europe. Opened by the European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, Mariya Gabriel, and closed on the first day by the Director-General of European Commission's DG Informatics, Gertrud Ingestad, the conference will take place in Brussels on 1-2 February 2018.

A new online register, launched on Tuesday 12 December, will make it easier to find and track EU decisions taken in the form of delegated acts.

The ISA² Programme of the European Commission is launching a call for expression of interest in the development of a new core vocabulary on public events. Core Vocabularies are simplified, reusable and extensible data models that capture fundamental characteristics of an entity in a context-neutral way.

The European Commission is organising a session on "Sharing and Reuse: open, efficient and innovative public services" in Paris on 6 December 2017. Its aim is to highlight and discuss some of the best practices in sharing and reuse of IT solutions across the EU. The ELISE action, managed by the Joint Research Centre under the ISA² programme, has just published a survey on its EU gazetteer activity. All interested parties are called to provide their assessment on the usefulness of an EU-wide gazetteer service that identifies the locations of places by specifying a geographic name, address, administrative unit etc.

Today the ministers in charge of e-Government from 32 EU and EFTA countries signed a declaration on e-Government in Tallinn, Estonia. In the declaration, the ministers stressed the importance of the new European Interoperability Framework (EIF) and ISA² Programme.

In the 6th year of existence, the open platform for sharing and discussing digital administrative solutions has undergone a complete remodelling. The Joinup platform offers IT developers the opportunity to promote, discuss and upload their own proven eGovernment solutions and to download those from others.

The OCS software is a tool that has initially been developed to support organisers of a European Citizens' Initiative in the online collection of signatures. The tool streamlines both the data collection and its verification by the National Authorities.

Version 1.0.0 of a Solution Architecture Template (SAT) on interoperability testing has been just released. This template describes how to integrate the ISA² testbed in the existing IT environment. Specifically, it describes the available resources, services and usage options and highlights what is needed to get started.

The channel keeps everybody interested in interoperability updated on the latest news and events related to the programme. It also covers newly developed solutions under ISA², as well as interoperability initiatives of the European Commission such as the European Interoperability Framework.

The European Commission has released a new version of the European Interoperability Reference Architecture (EIRA©). The EIRA© is a content model that defines the most important building blocks required for the creation of interoperable eGovernment systems. It provides a common terminology for IT architects and facilitates the development of digital public services across borders and sectors.

The European Commission has released a new version of its multilingual online survey software EUSurvey. The enhanced version makes it easier to create and edit questionnaires thanks to new useful features. The new release is also available as open source.

The National Interoperability Framework Observatory (NIFO) of the European Commission has published the report "State of Play of Interoperability in Europe 2016". The report, which was created with the support of the ISA² programme, presents the highlights of the results of the 2016 NIFO monitoring exercise and compares them with previous years.
