ISA² - Interoperability solutions for public administrations, businesses and citizens

Save the date! SEMIC 2017 - Semantic Interoperability Conference

SEMIC 2017

SEMIC 2017, the 7th edition of the annual semantic interoperability conference, will be held in Valletta, Malta on 14 June 2017. The event is organised by the ISA² Programme of the European Commission in collaboration with the Malta Information Technology Agency.

The conference will be opened by Emanuel Mallia, Minister for Competitiveness and Digital, Maritime and Services Economy, and by Gertrud Ingestad, Director General of DG Informatics of the European Commission.

As every year, the SEMIC Conference will bring together policy makers, IT practitioners, and researchers interested in topics related to semantic interoperability for public administration. This year, the conference with the topic 'data and information management' will offer an opportunity to learn about:

  • why data and information management and governance initiatives are becoming increasingly important;
  • how to put in place the processes, standards and tools for managing data and information;
  • how to encourage a culture of information sharing and reuse;
  • the ways in which leading organisations in Europe are creating value from data and information for themselves and their stakeholders.
