ISA² - Interoperability solutions for public administrations, businesses and citizens

New ISA² work programme adopted!

IT solutions

The European Commission recently adopted the 2017 revision of the ISA² rolling work programme. The EUR 131 million ISA² programme, which runs from 2016 to 2020, supports the development of interoperability solutions for the modernisation of public administrations across Europe.

The 2017 work programme is composed of 36 actions, of which 32 are ongoing from the previous year and four are new

The new ISA² actions are:

  • The REFIT Platform tool. The Regulatory Fitness and Performance (REFIT) Platform brings the Commission, national authorities and other stakeholders together in regular meetings to improve existing EU legislation as part of the Commission's Better regulation policy. This project will develop an IT tool that facilitates smarter cooperation between REFIT platform members. It will allow them to manage incoming suggestions and prepare positions on a high number of suggestions within a reasonable timeframe.
  • ELI @EU Law will ensure that the legislative data retrieval process, which is compliant with the European Legislative Identifier (ELI), is integrated with the information systems for monitoring the application of EU law.
  • The Inter-Institutional register for delegated acts (REGDEL) is setting up a joint register for delegated acts. This is a response to the needs of the Commission, European Parliament and EU Council and will make drafting and adoption of delegated acts more transparent.
  • The action "Standard-based archival data management, exchange and publication" will facilitate cross-border interactions between Commission archives and the main European archiving institutions by assessing standards relevant to archive management in order to identify IT solutions supporting these standards.
