Back Youth and employment: What changed with COVID-19?

22 June 2022

The third episode of the Eurostat podcast series Stats in a Wrap is out, and this time the focus is statistics on young people and employment.

The host Jonathan Elliott discusses changes in employment trends for young people (aged 15 to 29) before COVID-19 and now with Eurostat’s labour and education statistician Anna Emilia Martino and Niall O'Higgins, senior economist from the International Labour Organization

Did you know that between 2009 and 2019, youth employment had been slowly but constantly rising? Or that 21% of the EU's working-age population, 15 to 74 years old, are young people?
