Previous versions
Since 1993, several versions of the CPA have been developed.
In 2008, a major overhaul took place, which resulted in the release of CPA 2008. This version was established through EU regulation 451/2008. It was used for European statistics from 2008 until 2014. This update increased the level of detail for goods and services from 2 608 to 3 142 subcategories.
In comparison, the 2014 update resulted in an increase from 3 142 to 3 218 subcategories.
