PES staff management in the ‘new normal’ post COVID-19
A new survey report of the PES Network highlights how staff management practices in Public Employment Services (PES) have evolved in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Key trends include reskilling staff to adapt to changing services or delivery models – especially digitalisation of services – and increased remote or hybrid work. There is also a greater focus on staff engagement, feedback, health and wellbeing.

€1.9 million from European Globalisation Adjustment Fund to support dismissed workers in Belgium
Today, the European Commission proposes to support 559 workers dismissed by the logistics company TNT in Belgium, with €1.9 million from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund for Displaced Workers (EGF).

EU project helps Ukrainian refugees starting their life in Germany
The project “Employment pilot for Refugees”, funded by the Cohesion’s Action for Refugees in Europe (CARE) initiative, takes place in the Länder of Rhineland-Palatinate. It focuses on helping people fleeing the war in Ukraine to overcome the many barriers they face upon arrival – such as the lack of childcare, the search for housing or a language courses.

The Commission presented a Green Deal Industrial Plan to enhance the competitiveness of Europe's net-zero industry and support the fast transition to climate neutrality. The Plan aims to provide a more supportive environment for the scaling up of the EU's manufacturing capacity for the net-zero technologies and products required to meet Europe's ambitious climate targets.
