On the 15th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, we are happy to announce that EU countries, civil society and the EU institutions have committed to work even more closely together to combat discrimination based on disability. This is our obligation under the UN Convention.

Der Access City Award 2022 geht an die Stadt Luxemburg. Eine Jury aus Experten für Barrierefreiheit würdigte die Stadt für deren breites Spektrum innovativer Lösungen und Verbesserungen, mit denen Luxemburg für Menschen mit Behinderungen leichter zugänglich werden soll.

European Day of Persons with Disabilities: this year's conference focuses on health, digital transition and on children with disabilities
The annual conference celebrates the European Day of Persons with Disabilities. At the Access City Award ceremony, which closes the conference, Commissioner for Equality, Helena Dalli, will announce the winner of the 2022 Access City Award. This award recognises cities that are making outstanding efforts to become more accessible for persons with disabilities.

Commission and OECD release the Missing entrepreneurs 2021
The European Commission and OECD issued the 2021 edition of the "Missing Entrepreneurs 2021" that examines how public policies can overcome obstacles to start-ups and self-employment. With millions of “missing entrepreneurs”, countries are missing out on potential innovation, growth and jobs. About three-quarters of such “missing” entrepreneurs are women, half are over 50 years old and one-in-eight are under 30 years old.
