Gert- Jan Wientjens works as a freelance consultant for more than 18 months. Being a freelancer gives him a lot of freedom, independence and satisfaction, but at the same time, he has to cover himself for illness, retirement and parental leave. Gert-Jan’s opinion is that all workers shall enjoy social protection, which makes him a strong supporter of the Council Recommendation on access to social protection for workers and the self-employed.
