NSO Malta: Annual Report 2014 - European Statistical System (ESS)

The National Statistics Office of Malta has released its Annual report 2014.

In 2014 the National Statistics Office issued 245 news releases and 5 publications, while preparatory work was undertaken for the Household Budgetary Survey in 2015/6. A new website was also launched. Highlights for the year were the publication of National Accounts and Balance of Payments estimates in accordance with the new methodological manuals, ESA2010 and BPM6 respectively, and the timely data transmission of Structural Business Statistics for the first time ever.

2014 also saw a change in top management for NSO. The second three-year term of Mr Michael Pace Ross expired on 4 November, and a public call for applications for the post of director general was issued by the Malta Statistics Authority.
