Revision of the European Statistics Code of Practice - European Statistical System (ESS)

The European Statistical System Committee (ESSC)  approved the revision of the European Statistics Code of Practice as presented in their meeting on 16 November 2017.

Following the 2011 update of the text, originally adopted in 2005, this second revision focused on the alignment of the Code of Practice with the related provisions of the amended Regulation 223, on the inclusion of the main lessons learned from the second round of ESS peer reviews as well as on the extension, or generalisation of the Code of Practice so that it can accommodate the use of new, multiple data sources.

In the coming months a sub-group of the Quality Working Group will finalise the Glossary of terms used in the revised Code of Practice, which is mentioned in the Preamble of the text, and will also start to work on the adaptation of the Quality Assurance Framework of the ESS.
