Directors of Methodology and IT (DIME/ITDG) Steering Group meeting - European Statistical System (ESS)

The joint steering group meeting of the Directors of Methodology and IT took place in Luxembourg on 24 and 25 June in Eurostat.

Representatives from 12 Member States attended.

The meeting was chaired for the first time by Mr Emanuele Baldacci, the new Director of Eurostat Directorate B. "Sitting on the other side of the table has been a really enriching experience for me", Emanuele said.

The topics discussed included:

• the new DIME/ITDG governance that is expected to be fully operational in 2016;
• the Vision 2020 portfolio and implementation;
• a proposed new process to document statistical standards as well as     progress on defining an Enterprise Architecture reference framework;
• progress on the data exchange infrastructure for the SIMsTAT pilots.

The meeting also included a section for countries to present their initiatives and ISTAT presented their lessons learned from the methodological network.
