DGINS Conference 2013 - European Statistical System (ESS)

The Netherlands will be hosting the Directors General of the National Statistical Institutes (DGINS) Conference and the Meeting of the European Statistical System Committee (ESSC) this autumn. The meetings are scheduled to take place in Scheveningen–The Hague from 25 to 27 September 2013.

DGINS 2013 will focus on 'ESS Future and how we get there', 'New round of Peer reviews' and 'Big Data'. 

The monitoring of the compliance with the European Statistics Code of Practice is entering a new phase, posing great challenges for the ESS. A high level forum such as the DGINS is an ideal setting to exchange views and experiences on all relevant aspects.
The second day seminar will examine the opportunities afforded and challenges posed by big data in the context of official statistics. Discussions during the DGINS will generate useful ideas and suggestions for further work with big data.
