Business demography (BD) statistics provide information about the life cycle of businesses and their development over time. They are part of the European business statistics (EBS).

BD covers the business economy, defined as sections B to N, P to R, and division S95 and S96 of the statistical classification of economic activities (NACE revision 2), which includes:

• industry
• construction
• distributive trades
• services

This section provides data, among others, about enterprise births and deaths, as well as high-growth enterprises.
