Agri-environmental indicators
Agri-environmental indicators (AEI) track the integration of environmental concerns into the common agricultural policy (CAP) at EU, national, and regional levels.
A set of 28 indicators was created in 2006 by the European Commission in close collaboration with the EU countries, following a Commission communication on agri-environmental indicators.
Data providers
The development and maintenance of the AEI is a collaborative effort between several directorates of the Commission, of which each is responsible for a sub-set of the indicators:
- Eurostat
- Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI)
- Directorate-General for Environment (DG ENV)
- Joint Research Centre (JRC)
- European Environment Agency (EEA)
- Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE)
- Directorate-General for Climate Action (DG CLIMA)
