Interreg project RADAR: improving road safety in Danube region countries

Road deaths in several Danube region countries are higher than the EU average and large parts of their road networks rate poorly for safety. An EU-funded partnership, supported by Interreg, helped these countries reduce deaths and serious injuries for drivers, passengers, motorcyclists, cyclists and pedestrians.

Improving cross-border public transport in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine

The Interreg EMR Connect project seeks to improve public transport in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine (EMR) region. The project has improved cross-border cooperation between public transport operators in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, created new tariffs, tested new technologies, and expanded services like e-bike-sharing. The 14 project partners are public transport operators, local authorities, and universities.

Better Polish rail connections to strengthen Baltic-Adriatic transport corridor

Phase two of an EU-funded project will complete the construction of some 16.97 kilometres of double-track, non-electrified railway line in the Pomorskie region of Poland. Lazareti - Creative Hub of Dubrovnik

An historic complex of buildings in Dubrovnik, Croatia, has been renovated for use as a cultural venue and workspace. The final phase of works, which included rebuilding three of the complex’s naves and archaeological excavations, was completed with EU funding. Today, the venue hosts a range of events and fosters art, culture and heritage within the local community and serves tourists to the city.

Croatian holiday resort takes its accommodation to the next level

The Plitvice Holiday Resort has built 14 luxury accommodation units – five tree houses and nine lakeside houses – and a new reception with EU funding. It has improved its recreational facilities, developing two artificial lakes, a promenade, a mini golf course and a dog training area. As a result, Plitvice has become a 4-star resort and the new facilities encourage guests to book longer stays. The resort covers 5 hectares in Rakovica, next to Croatia’s Plitvice Lakes National Park.
