The 2023 Cities Forum website is online!

The 5th edition of the Cities Forum will take place in Torino on 16-17 March 2023. We are pleased to announce that the official website for the event is online. This is the main information portal for interested participants. You can already find online the draft agenda of the event and a brief description of the workshops and thematic sessions. Registration to attend the event on site will open in January on the website. To remain updated on future news, participants are invited to follow our Facebook event #CitiesForum 2023.

 
Series of 14 European Commission events at the World Urban Forum

This year’s – eleventh – session of the World Urban Forum will take place in Katowice, Poland. In order to present European perspective, within the WUF11 programme there will be a special group of events called the European Track. As part of a dedicated building block of the European Track, the series of 14 events organised or co-organised by the European Commission aims to highlight the EU approach towards integrated sustainable urban development through various dimensions. Please also take time to visit the European Commission Joint Research Center’s stand if you join the forum. More information can be found below.

 
URBACT activities in Katowice

Urbact will be present in Poland and organise two events at the WUF 11: a training on gender equality in cities, and a panel session based on the work of the pilot network Global Goals for Cities, supporting the localization of SDGs. Self-Assessment Tool for Sustainable Urban Development strategies

Register here to this Urban Development Network webinar, taking place on 25 November from 10.00 to 12.00. The event focuses on the Self-Assessment Tool for Sustainable Urban Development strategies (SAT4SUD), an online tool developed to assess your urban strategy, recognising strengths and identifying opportunities for improvement.

 
Webinar: Sustainability in Public Libraries - Better funding for a great good place

Two freshly released reports will be presented during the webinar on November 23rd. The first includes an evaluation of funding structures of European public libraries as result of a survey carried out by the Action Group. The other presentation is a pre-synthesis of the second European report on sustainable development and libraries, a survey carried out by EBLIDA in the course of summer 2021. Register here!

 
Integrated Approaches to Europe’s Dissonant Heritage

The German Federal Ministry of the Interior for Building and Community (BMI) and the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR) are organising an online expert discussion, in the framework of the Partnership on Culture and Cultural Heritage in the Urban Agenda for the EU, on Wednesday, 20 October 2021 from 15:00-18:00 CET. European Week of Regions and Cities 2021

Web Conference - What EU funding opportunities for local and regional authorities?

Join Efus's web conference in the framework of Action 2 and 4 of the Partnership on Security in Public Spaces on EU funding opportunities for local and regional authorities concerning the topic of urban security. The event will take place on Zoom, with the participation of expert Thijs Fikken (Action 2) on the 25 June at 10h (CET).
