The Mont Blanc Project on video

Early in February, Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) successfully deployed the Mont-Blanc prototype. After three years of intensive research effort, the team installed a two-rack prototype which is now available to the Mont-Blanc consortium partners. It is the first time that a large HPC system based on mobile embedded technology has been deployed and made fully operational to a scientific community.

Graphene Flagship. One Year On. Annual Report 2013–2014

Launched in October 2013,the EU funded Graphene Flagship has now been sailing for a little over a year. Much has been achieved in this short time, yet we are only a tenth of the way on a voyage that we hope will take graphene and related materials from academic laboratories into society. IoT-Week 2015 Towards Large-Scale Internet-of-Things

Graphene Workshop in European Parliament

"From Nobel Prize to technology, innovation and industrial competitiveness" What is so special about graphene and other 2D materials? Will the Graphene Flagship allow Europe to take the driving seat in these technologies, and turn them into growth and jobs? A Science and Technology Options Assessment (STOA) workshop in the European Parliament is going to explore such questions.

The Science and Technology Options Assessment (STOA) bureau of the European Parliament explored Graphene and other 2D materials in a workshop called "From Nobel Prize to technology, innovation and industrial competitiveness. Questions raised during the workshop ranged from: " why are these materials so special?" to "will the Graphene Flagship project allow Europe to take the driving seat in these technologies, and turn them into growth and jobs?".

 
Visegrad 4 for Secure Data - Contribution of V4 to H2020 R&I effort in data security

The V4 countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia ) have issued a common position for a Digital Single Market based on digital economy and cyber security. If the V4 countries want to deal with these challenges then they need to support the research and innovation activities in this area as well as improve the business environment.

 
DALi: Robot walker for elderly people in public spaces

Elderly people with walking difficulties are often intimidated by busy public places. This led an EU research project to develop a robot walker to guide them around shopping centres, museums and other public buildings, thus enhancing their autonomy.
