In this training session, participants learn how to manage their IP before entering a business collaboration and get insights into important IP considerations when developing collaboration agreements.

Intermediate Webinar: Freedom to Operate

Whenever a company is planning to develop and launch a new product, particularly in technology sectors where there is extensive patenting, a major risk is that commercialisation may be blocked by a competitor who holds a patent for a technology incorporated within that product. This is why many companies at an early stage seek to secure their “freedom to operate” (FTO). This training session illustrates how to minimise the risks, provides an overview of the different FTO types and looks into why FTO is strategically important for commercialisation activities of SMEs.

Webinar in Cooperation with CIOPORA: Enforcement Practices for Plant Variety Rights in the EU

Increasingly, plant breeders and Plant Breeders’ Right (PBR) title-holders are facing illegal propagation of their registered varieties in different countries. While the law enforcement is similar to other IP rights, such as trademarks, the enforcement activities in PBR may be more challenging due to the specific character of the rights' subject – a perishable living plant – and the botanical expertise required for the variety identification. The training session will provide a comprehensive overview of the enforcement tools available to the holders of PBR in the European Union. This webinar is part of a training collaboration between CIOPORA and the European IP Helpdesk.
