IP Assessment: How to Improve Informed Decision-making

Jointly organised by the European IP Helpdesk and the European Patent Acadamy of the EPO, this online course comprises a series of three connected sessions on IP-related challenges and issues with the main emphasis on technology and patenting. It is designed for intellectual capital managers, R&D project leaders, entre- and intrapreneurs, SMEs, start-ups, spin-offs and technology transfer businesses. The three sessions will take place on 2, 7 and 9 June 2022, always from 2 to 4 PM (CEST).

 
Webinar: Effective IP and Outreach Strategies Help Increase the Impact of Research and Innovation

Communication, dissemination and exploitation are key elements of every Horizon project. Yet, there is still some confusion on what the terms really mean and how the corresponding activities relate to each other. This basic-level training session aims to clarify the terminology by illustrating the differences between the three concepts and to point out the areas they have in common. It will also give an overview of key practical steps to take and consider when elaborating a sound outreach and exploitation strategy.

High-growth Technology Business Forums: Licensing & Open Innovation

The High-growth Technology Business (HTB) Forums have been designed by the European Patent Office and the Licensing Executives Society International to present and elaborate on insightful case studies of IP strategies adopted by innovative enterprises, with a focus on SMEs and start-ups. Two upcoming forums in June will take a look at licensing (1 June 2022) and open innovation (15 June 2022). In each of the forums, a global expert panel will guide the audience through the success story presented, take an in-depth look into how intellectual assets support the business case and provide takeaways for practical implementation.

 
Long-term Matchmaking: Smart & Technical Textiles

Advanced Webinar: IP Management in ICT Projects

Compared to other technology sectors, innovations in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector have unique characteristics. These characteristics raise many challenges for EC-funded projects concerning managing and protecting research results and strategies and plans for their exploitation. It is one of two most important sector-specific events in Poland, dedicated to the agro-food sector. It is the business nature event and a perfect space for a dialogue between food manufacturers and food distributors. Every April, we celebrate World Intellectual Property Day to raise awareness about the role of intellectual property (IP) rights in encouraging innovation. This year's World Intellectual Property Day aims to recognize the huge potential of young people to find new and better solutions that support the transition to a sustainable future. Webinar: The New Copyright Directive

In 2019, the European Parliament adopted the Copyright in the Digital Single Market Directive, giving member states until June 2021 to enact new national laws reflecting its provisions. The Copyright Directive has been highly controversial, mainly due to well-founded concerns that it will undermine the free expression of individual internet users who risk having content they try to publish blocked by companies who fear falling foul of the new copyright laws.
