Webinar & EPO Coop: Patent Protection for EU-funding Beneficiaries – Artificial Intelligence in MedTech

We are happy to announce the second session of the "Patent protection for EU funding beneficiaries" lecture series organised in co-operation with the European Patent Academy. Each lecture explores the interface between patents and the respective technical field. This session will specifically focus on Artificial intelligence in MedTech and introduce the main aspects of IP management: notably IP ownership, protection and exploitation. Please note that by registering for one session, participants will automatically register for all sessions within the series.

 
High-growth Technology Business Forum 2023 – Growth Financing

The European Patent Office and the Licensing Executives Society International are organising a new series of High-growth technology business forums. Leaders from deep tech businesses will present their live case studies online and discuss them with an international panel of experts. The forums will emphasise the perspective of growth financing, build-to-sell, and IP strategy and management. The one-hour session will be followed by an optional meet-the-speakers gathering. The first session on "Growth Financing" will highlight the key role played by IPR (intellectual property rights) portfolios and strategy in attracting investment and increasing company value.

 
Workshop on Genetic Resources: Introduction on Regulatory Aspects and Protection of Intellectual Property

The EU-funded project BreedingValue invites the European breeding and plant research community to a workshop striving to establish a common understanding of the regulatory framework for intellectual property (IP) management of new pre-breeding material. High-level representatives of the ECPGR, FAO, CPVO and the European Commission will share their views on the current international regulatory framework and its consequences for IP management of pre-breeding material. European research projects focusing on GenRes will provide insight into the IP landscape. The workshop will be held in a hybrid format.

The Horizon IP Scan is a tailored, free-of-charge, first-line intellectual property (IP) support service provided by the European Commission (EC) in order to assist European start-ups and other SMEs involved in EU-funded collaborative research projects to effectively manage and value IP in collaborative R&I efforts. The 20-minute info session aims to provide all interested parties with background information on the EC's innovation support initiative, as well as information on its advantages and the application procedure.
