How about some statistics on fireworks in the European Union? In 2017, the European Union (EU) imported 110 thousand tonnes of fireworks, equivalent to €261 million in value. Almost all of the imports came from China, 98 % of the total volume of imports.
Of these imports, more than three-quarters (77 %) went to four Member States. In top place was Germany (40 thousand tonnes, 36 %), followed by the Netherlands (24 thousand tonnes, 22 %), Poland (11 thousand tonnes, 10 %) and the United Kingdom (10 thousand tonnes, 9 %).
