Health and long term care - Employment and social inclusion indicators
The health and long-term care strand of the Open Method of Coordination focuses on indicators related to social protection. It is structured along the three objectives of the health and long-term care strand:
- access to care and inequalities in outcomes,
- quality of care and
- long-term sustainability of systems.
First objective indicators - access to care (including inequity in access to care) and inequalities of outcome
Primary indicators
- Self reported unmet need for medical care
- Self reported unmet need for dental care
- Life expectancy at birth, at age 45 and at age 65
- Healthy life years
Secondary indicators
- Self-perceived limitations in daily activities (activity restriction; for at least the past 6 months)
- Self-perceived general health
- Infant mortality
- Healthy life years
Second objective indicators - quality of care: effectiveness, safety and patient centeredness
