Back Industrial production indices - global developments - Issue number 61/2008

The increasing internationalisation of the world economy, the shift in industrial output from high to lower labour cost regions and the emergence of a group of countries with rapidly developing economies are features of globalisation. Looking at how far it affects the development of industrial production is the subject of this short publication. It takes a glimpse into the recent development of industrial output and the activities having reported faster and slower growth for a range of economies, mainly for the EU, China, India, Japan, the Russian Federation and the United States.
