International, North American and European Statistical Classifications for Space Economy Measurement
Summary
With this report, the European Space Agency, the European Commission´s Eurostat and Joint Research Centre, together with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (US BEA), are publishing the first-ever list of statistical codes to measure the space economy consistent across the three geographical levels: the world, the United States and Europe. It is the first step towards thematic accounting for space, by giving a comparable definition of the space economy for statistical purposes. A space economy thematic account answers the needs for reliable data and comparable time series on the space economy to provide the evidence supporting decision makers and policy objectives.
